FUN ON THE FARM

FUN ON THE FARM

Hello–it’s Farmer Sandy. I really enjoy hosting your family, friends, groups, students, and impromptu get-togethers for an enjoyable morning or afternoon at the farm to pick the fruits that are ripe and wonderful at that moment. My team and I will let you know what’s ready for picking, and we’ll help direct you to those specific trees in the orchard. We’ll first suit you up with a bucket and special harness–and you’ll be set for a few–or several–hours in the fruit orchards that have been in my family for over 70 years. We also give tours and scenic hay wagon rides in the Fall. I really want to share this special place with you.

FRESH FRUIT GALORE – FROM JULY THROUGH EARLY NOVEMBER

U-Pick Cherries — Come join us from around July 4th through the first week of August. I’ll let you know on my FACEBOOK page when the cherries are perfectly ripe and ready for you.

We-Pick Cherries — We’re happy to pick cherries for you. Just call us and let us know what you want, and we’ll have them ready for you to pick up.

Come Pick Some Apricots — Typically available on the farm from the last weekend of July through the first week of August. Give us a call and we’ll confirm if they’re ready.
Pears — Bartlett, Bosc, and Anjou — Usually ready from around September 12th and stored in the cooler until gone. Just call us. We do the picking for pears.

19 varieties of Apples including HONEYCRISP are abundant and ready from the second week of September and every week thereafter through the beginning of November. We then store apples in the cooler where they will keep through February.

Remember, certain varieties are ready before others. See our “U-Pick Fruits and More” page for approximate dates.

FALL FUN FOR ALL AGES

Scenic Hay Wagon Rides, kids hay bale maze, Log Cabin, Teepee and more are offered during the Fall when the sky is a brilliant Michigan blue and the air is crisp–and the trees are crimson and gold. It’s just magic at the Rennie Orchards family farm during the Fall. Call us and schedule a group visit for your family, church group, or classroom. Or, just call to let us know you’ll be dropping by. We’ll get things organized and ready for your visit.
Open everyday from 10am through 6pm in July through October - we’re located at 11221 Munro Rd. in Williamsburg, Michigan, which is just 15 minutes north of Traverse City and a few miles south of Elk Rapids off of US31. Take US31 to Angell Road; cross Bates, and turn left at Munro. Watch for the Rennie Orchards sign and turn left into the driveway. We’re a family farm; you’ll drive into a gravel area where you can park, then head toward the big, red barn. We’ll be excited to greet you and show you around.
